Spirals
⇒
Born of Zoque lineage in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, México, formed on Kumeyaay land, compelled to maturation through peregrination.
Schooled in theology, spirit, motherhood, rupture.
Formally trained (M.A. Spirituality, M. Divinity) and informally transformed (by community, the other-than-human, and uncertainty).
⇄
Priest-to-be turned consultant, zine-maker, spiritual companion, embodied experimenter.
Dislodging from colonialism + capitalism, reimagining collapsing empire, hinge-working between What-Is and What-Can-Be.
Studied Story. Floated on the ocean of Formlessness. Located Liberation Lifeways (TM).
↝
Growing alongside my toddler and my relations in the border/lands.
Making art, relanguaging Spirit, dreaming offerings that support people in their Being, Becoming, and Belovedness.
Refusing binaries. Playing with time and space. Inviting others into resource-rich worlds.
Names & Lineages
Eréndira
comes from the Purépecha people of Michoacan, meaning “smiling one.”
I carry with me lineages of resistance, prayer, poetry, education, and resourcefulness.
My work is shaped by migration, motherhood, faith, political imagination, and the deep knowing that another world is not only possible, it’s already opening before us.

EJE Studio
is my creative house.
Everything that pours out of me lives here.
It’s a little corner of the world where experience and experiment are guiding values.
Where a project goes as far as it wants to go and isn’t “should-ed” any further.
A place to process and play and practice and pivot.
What exists here one day may be gone the next.
This is a space of self-expression and evolution for a multi-faceted Self and for the Collective.
~~~
The Chaordic Spiral
is my business ecosystem. TCS is:
a Liberation Lifeway (TM)
A snapshot of a larger cosmological framework, a lifeway among lifeways
an Ecosystem
A container dedicated to navigating the Spirals of Life at the intersection of personal becoming, communal re-languaging, collective world-building, and cosmic expansion
a Community
A space for exploration and integration to Follow the Spiral in order to world-build and weave the webs of Liberation Lifeways (TM)
The Chaordic Spiral lives at the crossroads of the material and the spiritual, holding the uncertainty of these times without collapsing under it.
Belovedness, Boundaries, & Commitments
I approach all of my offerings from the posture of story-listening and story-telling.
Bringing a background in spiritual companioning — or spiritual direction, as it has historically been called — my work centers creating space in your life for your Belovedness, being held just as you are in this moment in time by your relationship with the Divine, with uncovering the rhythms and cycles of your liberation lifeway — the unique way you experience God and extend the Divine in the world.
In particular, I aim to support the lifeways of those who are working towards justice, equity, and liberation, dismantling oppressive systems, deconstructing their internalized narratives of dominance and shame, decolonizing their spaces of faith, work, and life, and world-building new futures.
Dreamers, healers, nurturers, kin-keepers, activists, artists, community organizers, and those engaged in the work of birthing a new world: this work is spiritual at its core and I am here to hold space for the dance between liberation of the world and liberation of the Self.
I do not center urgency, productivity, or extraction in my work. My work moves at the pace of sustainable growth and ebbs and flows with the rhythms of seasons. Life is spiraling for us all so I may take a while to get back to you. If you’d like to work with me I invite you trust in our mutual timing.
Where to Now?
Move through the Portals as you please.
You can consider working together, stepping into the Spiral, wandering through my research rabbit holes, or witnessing my creations.
You’ll find more questions than answers, and hopefully, a little inspiration.
Long Bio:
Eréndira Jiménez Esquinca (she/they) is a queer, Mexico-born, San Diego-raised human, who currently lives on the unceeded Kumeyaay land she grew up on. With Zoque maternal lineage, Indigenous knowings shape the work they offer the world.
With 20+ years of formal and informal experience as both student and teacher of All-That-Is, Eréndira’s work emerges from the experimental and experiential—a throwing of the Self into moments that yield art, spirituality, and self-expression.
Decolonial in the undoing of oppressive histories (individual and shared) and reWorlding in the writing of new, collective, liberatory futures, they center the dance between story, practice, community as a way to assist individuals and communities in creating space for ever-evolving Selves.
Artistically, Eréndira fuses a variety of mediums — visual art, photography, book art, textiles, poetry, short-form essays — and plays with the space between form and formlessness, the material and the spiritual, the mundane and the mystical.
Her work points to themes of transformation, liberation, and flourishing as it emerges in the individual, moves through the communal, ripples out into the collective, touches the cosmic, and returns to the Self in a circular and spiraling motion though time and space, past/present/future, microscopic to macrocosmic.
They hold a Masters of Divinity from Yale Divinity School, an M. A. in Spirituality from Bellarmine University, and continue to operate as an independent scholar/spiritual anthropologist of sorts.
She is currently engaged in personal study of a shifting collective spiritual landscape, the impact of an emerging generation on conceptions of structure and tradition, the expansion of pathways for spiritual formation for the youngest among us, the reclamation of identity/belonging/purpose/mean-making/ritual/ceremony through uncovering the infinite Liberation Lifeways(TM) among us, and what it means to follow the Spiral in its multi-faceted and multi-dimensional form.
You can find Eréndira playing, practicing, and pivoting at EJE Studio and deepening Liberation Lifeways (TM) at The Chaordic Spiral.
